Set up a fair comparison

Find soft light facing you and keep the background reasonably simple. A bright window behind your head can make the comparison harder to see. Hold the phone near eye level, look straight towards the camera and keep roughly the same position when switching frames. You are trying to make the frames change while the rest of the picture stays familiar.

Wear something representative of your everyday wardrobe. If the purchase is mainly for the office, a normal work shirt or scarf gives you a more useful impression than an outfit chosen only for a photograph. There is no need to dress formally just to test a frame.

Open the browser preview and choose a frame

If a particular model is not available there, return to its photographs and dimensions rather than treating another overlay as an exact substitute.

Start with three noticeably different shapes. For example, compare a rectangle, a round frame and a cat-eye. Decide which direction interests you, then make smaller comparisons within it. This sequence is easier to evaluate than rapidly switching through a long line of almost identical frames.

Judge the outline, not an imaginary measurement

Look at how much presence the rim has, whether you like the top line and how the shape works with your usual hairstyle. You may find that a colour you dismissed on a white product background looks appealing in a portrait, or that an imposing frame feels quieter on your face. Those are useful discoveries.

Oculare labels the fit as approximate: the preview uses estimated scale and is intended to look right head-on. It does not measure your nose bridge, certify a frame size or establish the measurements for prescription lenses. A convincing overlay cannot tell you how the arms will feel behind your ears.

Make a shortlist you can revisit

Use the snapshot option if you want to compare a few looks later. Give each saved image a name that identifies the model and colour, then review the images together. Keep the lighting and phone position similar so you are judging the frame rather than which photograph is more flattering.

If you ask someone for an opinion, give them a focused question: “Which outline do you prefer with my everyday clothes?” Their answer can help with style. It cannot establish comfort from the image. Keep your own favourite in the shortlist even if the group chat has a different taste.

If the camera will not start

Check the browser’s camera permission for the site and try again. If another app is using the camera, close that camera session before retrying. Use the secure HTTPS page. The site also distinguishes between a missing camera, an unsupported browser and a preview engine that could not start, so read the message before repeating the same action.

On a connection that is taking time to load the preview, give the start process a chance to finish. If the device still cannot run it, try another phone or continue with product photos. You do not need to make a purchase decision simply because you have already spent time troubleshooting.

Return to the practical buying checks

Open the product pages for your two or three favourites. Compare their measurements, current price, selected colour and what the order includes. If you have a comfortable existing pair, use it as a physical reference. Ask for missing dimensions before expecting the virtual image to fill the gap.

Stop the camera when you finish. The useful outcome of a session is a clearer style preference and a manageable shortlist. From there, the real frame, the lens order and the purchase terms still deserve their own attention. Your phone has helped with the first decision; it has not completed every decision for you.
